Sr. z/OS CICS Systems Administrator

About the role

NYS DOL support in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol complex network/systems environments. Primary point of contact for zOS Operating Systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform problem determination and resolution
• Participate in Disaster Recovery tests
• Participate in On-call rotation
• Perform Security Healthchecking
• Participate in Audits
• Participate and as required manage activities related to the installation, customization and management of the zOS operating system
• Coordinate activities with support staff to ensure appropriate support is provided
• Proactively monitor networks working with the Enterprise Network teams and developers to identify, manage and correct issues
• Work independently to diagnose and correct problems as they arise within the system
• Mentor state staff
• Monitor CICS regions

Requirements

• 14+ Years experience in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer
• 100% Onsite
• 84 Months experience maintaining and administering a multi-region CICS plex
• 84 Months Experience performing problem diagnostics and resolution in a z/OS environment
• 84 Months Experience fine tuning z/OS performance parameters
• 84 Months experience analyzing z/OS abend dumps
• 12 months experience with RACF security administration
• 72 Months experience omegamon use
• 24 Months Experience maintaining and operating MQ subsystems
