About the role

This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the performance of the CICS system on a Mainframe platform.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and troubleshoot CICS transactions and applications
  • Manage JCL and other system control statements to ensure optimal system performance
  • Support and maintain CICS subsystems, including configuration, tuning, and recovery procedures
  • Perform system performance analysis and implement necessary changes to improve system efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues related to CICS and Mainframe systems
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Mainframe Support and production operations
  • Strong hands-on experience with JCL and Mainframe Operating Systems (z/OS)
  • Experience with CICS system administration and support
  • Familiarity with TSO/ISPF utilities, datasets, and mainframe tools
  • Experience with system performance monitoring and tuning
  • Understanding of mainframe security frameworks (RACF, ACF2, Top Secret)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of Mainframe Operating Systems (z/OS)
  • Experience with CICS system administration and support
  • Knowledge of TSO/ISPF utilities, datasets, and mainframe tools
  • Experience with system performance monitoring and tuning
  • Understanding of mainframe security frameworks (RACF, ACF2, Top Secret)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Skills

  • Experience with COBOL and CICS transaction processing
  • Knowledge of DB2 for z/OS or IMS databases
  • Experience with mainframe modernization or cloud integration efforts
  • Experience with automation and scripting in mainframe environments
  • Familiarity with Workload Manager (WLM) and capacity planning
