Sr. Vendor Manager, Home, U.S. Hardlines
About the role
Amazon is looking for a driven, customer-focused, team-oriented, and analytical leader to join the Home team. The Sr. Vendor Manager will own the total P&L of a category within Home, setting strategy for growth, building vendor partnerships, expanding selection, managing profitability, optimizing pricing, and delivering a disruptive customer experience.
Key responsibilities include identifying brand and product opportunities, negotiating contracts and terms, managing vendor and new item setup, developing selection, setting prices, creating marketing and promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements. The role requires staying ahead of industry trends and executing both tactically and strategically.
You will collaborate with internal teams such as buying, merchandising, marketing, finance, and operations, and serve as a leader and communicator with vendors and partners.
Responsibilities
- Own the P&L for a Home category, driving growth and profitability
- Develop and execute category strategy to expand selection and improve customer experience
- Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships, including contract negotiation and relationship management
- Identify and pursue new brand and product opportunities
- Manage vendor setup, new item setup, and pricing optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams (buying, merchandising, marketing, finance, operations) to align on goals
- Analyze data to influence business decisions and drive sales/margin improvements
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Monitor industry and competitive trends to inform strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in account management, program management, or buying
- Experience driving cross-team collaboration
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to influence decisions
- Experience with P&L management and business analysis
- Proven negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn web-based tools quickly
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and delegate tasks
- Experience using generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency
- Ability to identify opportunities where generative AI can improve products, workflows, or customer experiences
Location
This position can be located in Seattle, WA; New York, NY; or Arlington, VA.
Pay
Base salary range: $121,200 – $163,900 USD annually. Your total compensation package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
