Sr. UX Manager, AI Services

About the role

The Sr. UX Design Manager leads the design team responsible for Amazon Bedrock and the broader AWS AI/ML portfolio. Amazon Bedrock/Mantle is a fully managed generative AI platform that provides customers with a unified API to access and test foundation models, run high-performance inference at scale, and customize models with their own data. This service is growing rapidly, processing more tokens in Q1 2026 than in all prior years combined.

Responsibilities

• Own the design vision for Bedrock's inference platform, model hosting capabilities, and model customization workflows.
• Define and communicate a cohesive design vision and strategy across the Bedrock platform and the broader AI services portfolio.
• Partner with product management, engineering, applied science, marketing, legal, and research teams to translate complex AI/ML capabilities into intuitive user experiences.
• Establish and evolve design processes, frameworks, and quality standards that enable the team to ship high-impact work using data-driven decision-making.
• Lead the team through a period of significant process transformation, establishing new mechanisms and ways of working as emerging AI tools reshape what it means to practice design.
• Drive cross-team alignment on shared design patterns, interaction models, and design systems that scale across multiple AI services.
• Represent the design team in leadership forums, communicating design strategy, progress, and impact to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience
• 5+ years of leading multi-discipline Design teams
• Experience leading diverse teams across multiple geographies
• Experience presenting to and effectively advising cross-functional senior executives
• Experience embedding design within product teams for agile design and development collaboration
• Led teams from zero to fluent in emerging design technologies through structured enablement, change strategy, hands-on training, and measurable adoption outcomes
• Fluency in AI agent development using SDKs and CLIs, including designing intuitive CLI commands and developer-facing interaction patterns that prioritize usability and developer experience
• Proven ability to thrive in a high-tempo, rapid-deployment environment, shipping fast, iterating in real-time, and delivering tactical outcomes with minimal overhead
