Sr. Transportation Manager

About the role
Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives at the site. This role oversees all aspects of operations or functions, including managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers. Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring the team to meet performance objectives, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Responsibilities
- Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and ultimately the Fulfillment Center to meet and exceed business plan goals.
- Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
- Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers.
- Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
- Leverages Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into improvement plans for the functional area.
- Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the network.
- Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives, as well as providing needed support for other staff initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies.
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple Fulfillment Centers across the nation.
- Prior leadership development training or participation.
- Track record of effectively leading an operation comprising both salaried and hourly staff of at least 100.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization.
Pay
Base salary range:
- Aurora, CO: $135,000.00 - $182,700.00 USD annually
- Broomfield, CO: $135,000.00 - $182,700.00 USD annually
- Commerce City, CO: $135,000.00 - $182,700.00 USD annually
