Sr. Trade Planning Manager, WWGS (Worldwide Grocery Store)
Job Summary
The Sr. Trade Planning Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end strategic planning for seasonal events, promotions, and merchandising initiatives across both physical and digital channels. This role involves partnering with Marketing, Category, Merchandising, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on trade strategies and execution. Additionally, the manager drives performance tracking and analysis through structured reviews and post-season analysis, manages trade plan development and execution to meet financial targets while delivering compelling customer experiences, provides competitive insights and market intelligence to inform strategic planning, identifies friction points in current workback schedules and planning process that unlock scale through automation and simplification, and serves as the connective leader ensuring every stakeholder has clarity on goals and metrics and delivers against the workback schedules.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end strategic planning for seasonal events, promotions, and merchandising initiatives across both physical and digital channels
- Partner with Marketing, Category, Merchandising, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on trade strategies and execution
- Drive performance tracking and analysis through structured reviews and post-season analysis
- Manage trade plan development and execution to meet financial targets while delivering compelling customer experiences
- Provide competitive insights and market intelligence to inform strategic planning
- Identify friction points in current workback schedules and planning process that unlock scale through automation and simplification
- Serve as the connective leader ensuring every stakeholder has clarity on goals and metrics and delivers against the workback schedules
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing or related field
- 5+ years of category management or trade planning experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work across multiple teams
- Experience with data analysis and project management tools (Excel, Smartsheets, Microsoft office products)
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills; able to lead high-stakes cross-functional initiatives
- Experience managing complex projects, owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and sharing results with senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of omnichannel retail go-to-market strategies
- Track record of driving results through influencing without authority
- Experience with retail planning systems and tools
- Ability to balance multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining strategic focus on delivering on topline goals
- Experience leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and drive operational efficiencies
- Experience with selection strategy, space planning, trade planning, or vendor management
