About the role
The Data Center Maintenance & Tooling team works with hundreds of AWS data centers globally to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost physical security, availability, capacity, and scaling results. The team seeks a Technical Program Manager to solve innovative problems via business process and technology innovations. This highly visible leader will own communication, coordination, and execution of a multi-year program vision. The mission is to provide critical data to operators and engineers for informed maintenance decisions of data center facilities. The TPM works with senior product and engineering leaders to define strategy and requirements, design and coordinate technical solutions that scale globally, manage complex systems and organizations, make appropriate trade-offs, clearly communicate goals and roles, identify opportunities to converge overlapping efforts, and drive long-term strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage operational relationships with support teams and internal operations business partners to drive increased performance.
- Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills and use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
- Effectively interact and collaborate with customers, project sponsors, technical product managers, and multiple internal teams to define and deliver complex solutions.
- Proactively recognize and drive opportunities to simplify processes.
- Contribute to and influence technical designs.
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
- Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large, complex technical projects and programs.

- Create, maintain, and disseminate program information to stakeholders.
- Travel up to 25%.
A day in the life
In this role, you will own the development and implementation of global standards for liquid cooling systems across AWS Data Centers. As liquid cooling technology scales rapidly across the fleet, you will define global serviceability requirements including maintenance, spares, training, and certification requirements. You will coordinate with Field Engineering and product teams and drive operational readiness for new liquid cooling deployments to ensure liquid cooling infrastructure is maintained safely and reliably at global scale.
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
- 5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience.
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
- 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
Pay
USA, VA, Herndon: $148,700.00 - $201,200.00 USD annually. Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location.
