About the Role
Provides timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation. Documents work and maintains adequate inventory using FedEx computer systems. Ensures work is in accordance with OSHA and DOT standards. Guides and supports a staff of technicians and trainees. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment.
- Document work and maintain inventory using FedEx computer systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT standards.
- Guide and support a team of technicians and trainees.
- Perform welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Vocational training from an accredited automotive-related vocational school preferred.
- ASE Master certification preferred.
- Four (4) years of fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle advanced technical repair and maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of equipment and testing tools for troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and/or hybrid motorized equipment.
- Proficient in operating a personal computer.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with traffic safety officials.
Job Conditions
- Possession of a basic set of automotive hand tools, including metric sizes.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver heavier weights with assistance regularly.
- Ability to work without supervision for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in noisy, non-air-conditioned/heated work areas.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Willingness to work any shift.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
- Non-covered safety-sensitive position.
