Sr. Technical Program Manager – Server Hardware Engineering, AWS Mainstream Compute

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple simultaneous hardware product development programs in a highly cross-functional environment which includes internal customers, external vendors and technology partners.
• Provide leadership in the application of new technologies to large scale server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience at a world-class cost point.
• Work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas, with high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and look for ways to improve product performance, quality and cost.
• Drive and measure process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness using data and key metrics.
• Work independently in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-changing organization, changing an industry and reaching beyond what is possible today.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing own tasks and those of other team members for multiple projects

Qualifications

• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure design, operations, or delivery
• Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements
• Experience engaging, verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner
• Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience in hardware design
• 7+ years of technical program management experience
• Experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications
• Experience working cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware and software and driving decision making among stakeholders with competing goals
• Strong technical and problem solving skills
• Confident leader who can prioritize and analyze trade-offs, communicate clearly and compellingly and effectively influence internally and externally, across organization boundaries. Able to independently influence and resolve conflicts with others
• Experienced in gathering requirements and developing server hardware specifications
• Ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross functional groups including mechanical Engineering, test, reliability, failure analysis.
