Job Summary
Lead West customers in technical matters relating to drug-closure compatibility, packaging recommendations, component processing, functionality, product/packaging development, extractable/leachable and other test requirements, and complementary systems. Take a proactive role as the technical interface between the customer and West’s functions, including being part of market segmented sales teams, supporting product/service development, and representing customer needs to the West organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead technical studies of West products and technologies for generating and supporting West Technical Reports, Bulletins, and commercial literature.
- Promote, present, and actively participate in the growth of West business by preparing technical presentations and training materials, leading technical seminars/symposiums, educating customers on product applications, sharing industry insights, and providing support for blogs.
- Represent West in trade shows, conferences, seminars, and industry forums by preparing abstracts and industry presentations, contributing to poster generation, presenting to industry, and interfacing with industry leaders on technical topics.
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal West functions for knowledge-based business, such as West Analytical Services offerings and Integrated Solutions.
- Build expertise in key market knowledge areas and define customer and technical criteria for new product launches, formula development, or other development projects.
- Lead special projects as needed.
- Work closely with QA and Operations on change control and assist customers with technical aspects of change and FAQs as needed.
- Work closely with all other members of Global Technical Customer Support team to ensure open communication and high-level effectiveness.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety rules.
- Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.
Education
A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (Engineering/Pharmacy/Chemistry/Biology or equivalent) is required.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is required.
- Experience in technical support, technical sales/applications, analytical laboratory, research and development, or engineering-related roles is required.
- Customer-fronting experience is highly advantageous.

- Excellent English language skills (written/oral).
- Willingness to global travel.
