About the Role
Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements software that runs computers and technologies like smart devices, networking equipment, or machinery. Determines systems software design requirements, ensures successful implementation and monitoring of system improvements to increase efficiency, and generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures. May participate in all aspects of software development, from detailed programming to high-level system design.
This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in software engineering and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Solves complex problems with minimal guidance, may lead projects or project steps, and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation, integration, and technical services and support.
- Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
- Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
- Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
- Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
- May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work may require exposure to changing climate conditions and/or operating machinery.
- Up to 25% travel likely.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Technical expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Pay
Pay Range (USD): $105,000.00 - $142,000.00
Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.

Schedule
9/80 schedule: 9-hour days Monday - Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays with 8-hour days.
