About the Role

This role oversees the daily management of medical materials (supplies, equipment, and linen) for multiple departments throughout the hospital and/or network. Primary duties include supply room and warehouse cleaning and organization, department customer service, reviewing item par levels and usage, bin optimization, material ordering, receiving and stocking, and assisting with manufacturer recall notifications. Senior Supply Technicians also aid in training, mentoring, and developing new Supply Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Apply lean supply philosophy and perform basic analytics using Microsoft products and supply chain management tools.
  • Perform material receiving functions, verifying correct items and quantities, processing receipts in the inventory management system, handling RTVs, tagging/labeling, and staging items for delivery.
  • Unload inbound freight and process packages according to BJC receiving guidelines, ensuring compliance with protocols.
  • Stage inbound and outbound freight for efficient workflow and distribution.
  • Perform timely direct deliveries to various departments across campus.
  • Communicate effectively with departments via email or Microsoft Teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Identify and document freight discrepancies, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Complete Return to Vendor (RTV) forms as needed, following company procedures.
  • Review reports and collaborate with department staff to adjust par levels, coordinate improvement opportunities, implement standardized supply models, and assist with JIT room audits.
  • Process stock/non-stock orders in inventory management systems, coordinate with procurement to resolve order issues, discrepancies, match exceptions, recalls, and returns to vendor.
  • Provide daily oversight of material functions while ensuring a safety-focused environment compliant with BJC, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Perform housekeeping functions in supply rooms and other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (required).
  • Associate's Degree (preferred).
  • 5-10 years of management or logistics experience (preferred).
  • No supervisory experience required, though preferred for senior roles.

Schedule

Nights: 10:30 PM - 7 AM
