Sr Supervisor Maintenance - WATERLOO PORK PLANT

About the Role

This position is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance coordination, including leading and directing maintenance technicians and fostering a well-trained and motivated staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of mechanics performing related tasks or activities.
• Manage and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment.
• Schedule maintenance crews and production work orders.
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and train a staff of maintenance technicians.
• Measure, monitor, and reduce machine downtime.
• Diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) problems and direct/assist with repairs.
• Promote a ‘Safety First’ culture amongst staff.
• Develop and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program for equipment and plant.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Tasks include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and reaching. The position may involve working in hot, humid, cold, or damp environments, as well as on slippery surfaces.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years’ industrial maintenance experience.
• Supervisory experience, including fostering a well-trained and motivated staff.
• Knowledge of SQF Quality Management policies and procedures, as well as GMP practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP software experience is a plus.
• Some weekend work required.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility, followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities, then external candidates.
