Sr. Strategic Account Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Account Manager to manage commercial activities at existing and new automotive customers, satisfying corporate mid-term and long-term growth objectives. This role involves identifying and developing new accounts and applications in designated markets, as well as communicating and coordinating business development efforts. The position is based near Fowlerville, MI, or Athens, AL, with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage all business with assigned tier 1 and tier 2 automotive customers.
- Grow profitable sales according to plan at current customers and prospects.
- Identify customer requirements and needs, expanding sales as planned.
- Understand customer strategy, products, processing, and operational value drivers to position APNA products appropriately.
- Develop contacts with customers across all functions and levels, including purchasing, production, logistics, marketing, sales, research and development, and technical service.
- Gain a full understanding of Asahi Kasei Plastics products and conduct technical and marketing presentations at customer meetings.
- Balance short-term and long-term objectives to deliver year-over-year growth.
- Manage the profit and loss of assigned accounts.
- Develop and apply a strong understanding of the company's pricing strategy, executing strategies that align with market positioning, customer value, and profitability objectives.
- Leverage pricing as a strategic driver to grow revenue and improve margins within assigned accounts.
Qualifications
- BS in engineering or business.
- 5 years of experience in automotive plastics, resins, market development, application development, or related fields.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to plan ahead and manage internal/external barriers to maintain progress toward objectives.
- Experience managing multiple programs concurrently and prioritizing time effectively.
- Knowledge of selling high-value materials in the automotive industry (desired but not required).
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM (desired but not required).
Work Environment
Office environment with occasional sitting, walking, standing, and lifting. Requires up to 50% domestic travel.
