About the role
The Sr Sterile Processing Tech at Chandler Regional Medical Center plays a critical role in the decontamination, assembly, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role requires adherence to rigorous infection control policies and manufacturer recommendations to support all operating rooms (ORs) and clinics. The tech ensures sterile instruments and equipment for a wide range of surgical needs across a diverse patient population, from infants to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, and other medical devices
- Appropriately uses manual disinfectants
- Fulfills roles as a resource regarding decontamination practices
- Aids in implementing infection control policies
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Eighteen (18) months of surgical instrument technician experience
- Hold a CRCST or CSPDT certification
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate expertise in sterile processing. Essential skills include the ability to follow instructions, analyze data, coordinate tasks, manage workload, and communicate effectively while upholding professionalism.
