Sterile Processing Tech
Summary
The Sterile Processing Tech prepares and maintains life-preserving articles and equipment ensuring patient and employee safety and optimal patient care. They follow the Central Supply Supervisor's direction and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of sterile instrumentation to the OR and other hospital areas.
- Maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, identify and remedy equipment and process failures, and hazards while maintaining appropriate and complete records.
- Work independently, making independent decisions regarding work.
- Schedule nursing staff, meet deadlines for review and posting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Certification by the Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST)
- BLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Aide

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Physical Requirements M - Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
Pay Range
$22.22 - $31.74
