About the role
The Sterile Processing Technician at Resurgens Surgery Center is responsible for maintaining and caring for surgical instrumentation, setting up supplies and instruments for surgery cases, and ensuring the operating room is prepared for procedures.
Responsibilities
- Cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation
- Sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases
- Ensures the operating room is prepared for procedures
- Prepares reports and keeps records
- Understands operating room instrumentation
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument trays
- Understands steam/ gravity sterilizers
- Understands Sterrad sterilizers
- Has familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician
- Experience with all types of sterilizers
- Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
- Ability to understand and operate various sterilization methods
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
