Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineering

We are seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in engaging with external and internal customers in support of the program. With general supervision, this role involves hardware/software requirements definition, decomposition, allocation, management, and verification/validation of technical products and systems.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and understand program-level objectives, system concept of operation, system and subsystem equipment, functions, interfaces, and operations.
- Define, flow-down, and ensure traceability of requirements for complex electronic systems using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) processes to enhance development speed and quality.
- Collaborate with other Systems Engineers to develop work products, including system specifications, logically derived and linked requirements, interface definitions, system diagrams, systems analyses, trade studies, and detailed designs.
- Develop and coordinate engineering artifacts for program design reviews.
- Support Systems Engineering execution within the business area (cost, schedule, technical).
- Evaluate overall systems project risks and support risk mitigation planning and execution with program and functional leadership.
- Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers.
- Analyze data from design verification test efforts.
- Brief status and results to program and customer stakeholders.
- Obtain and maintain a U.S. DOD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Travel up to 15% as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in systems engineering and the government program acquisition lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of standard system engineering processes, including MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220, or IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of DOORs and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance).
Preferred Additional Skills
- Familiarity with underwater products and acoustics.
- Active DoD clearance with a current 6-year update.
- Networking experience, including IP addressing, switching, and routing.
- Experience architecting, analyzing, developing, and integrating end-to-end systems in RF.
- Experience with DOORS, Cameo suite of MBSE tools, or similar, and MS Visio.
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success.
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong drive and sense of ownership.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $106,500 – $197,500. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including experience and geographic location.
Schedule
9/80 Regular Schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days (totaling 80 hours worked) and have every other Friday off.
