L3Harris Aeromet in Tulsa, OK is seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineering generalist to join our Systems Engineering team. As a core member, you will be responsible for aspects of the full Systems Engineering “Vee”, including requirements management, design verification test planning and execution, and maturing the Digital Engineering / MBSE design. Experience within aerospace, ISR, image processing, or EO/IR contexts is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the systems engineering activities throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Develop system architecture, requirements, and specifications based on customer needs and technical constraints.
- Design, plan, and execute system or module level verification tests.
- Troubleshoot at both system and module levels, including potential software, mechanical, and electrical or electronics faults.
- Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define, analyze, and validate system models and simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
- Conduct system-level down to module-level tests and evaluations to verify performance, identify issues, and propose solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to systems engineering.
- Work to meet schedule constraints imposed by internal or external stakeholders, utilizing project management skills.
- Create professional, data-driven presentations for briefing technical decisions or recommendations to internal stakeholders and external vendors/customers.
- Collaborate with Configuration Management, Technical Publications, Reliability Engineering, and other specialty engineering disciplines to ensure all requirements are adequately addressed and stakeholders considered.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience in advanced Optical Systems, EO/IR Sensors, or ISR applications.
- Ability to obtain a flight physical.
- Background in developing systems models and modeling software architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or similar SysML development tools.
- Verification and Validation (V&V) experience or Integration and Test (I&T) experience and use of test planning tools (e.g., LabView, TestStand).
- Proficiency in hardware/software integration, collaborating with hardware engineers and software developers.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, scripting languages, data-loggers, or advanced Excel data analyses, or MATLAB.
- Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace/Defense sector.
- Environmental Testing / Qualification (ESS) experience.
- Experience working under an AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Familiarity with INCOSE and the Systems Engineering Book of Knowledge (SEBOK).
- Familiarity or formal training as a Product Owner for an Agile software development team.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar degree path.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplined integrated product team (IPT).
