Sr. Specialist - Global Molding Procurement

The Sr. Specialist in Global Molding Procurement plays a pivotal role in the procurement category leadership, strategy execution, and process improvement within 3M. This position offers an opportunity to transition from various professional backgrounds to a 3M career, providing exposure to diverse 3M businesses and products.
Responsibilities
- Provide Category Ownership across 3M Businesses & Divisions, serving as a Strategic Procurement leader for Outsourced Molding.
- Drive Procurement policies and best practices, ensuring alignment with cost savings, growth, and working capital goals.
- Lead negotiations, participate in effective NPI launches, and manage complex supplier relationships.
- Initiate cost reduction efforts and facilitate implementation of innovative Procurement best practices.
- Lead supplier selection and maintain external supplier relationships as the key point of contact for 3M.
- Develop strong partnerships with suppliers and internal 3M stakeholders, including Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations.
- Identify and develop category risk reduction strategies by partnering with 3M stakeholders.
- Drive Cash Improvement in accordance with Global Policy.
- Support Divisions across 3M, offering broad exposure to 3M’s diverse businesses & products.
Strategy Execution & Process Improvement
- Identify, lead, and implement solutions for complex and multi-faceted situations regarding dual-sourcing, negotiation, category strategy, supplier management, and external sources of supply.
- Determine and lead opportunities for process improvements that enhance service, speed, or cost through analysis of Procurement information & metrics.
- Navigate complex situations and manage multiple internal & external stakeholders.
Contracting Ownership
- Lead contract negotiations with strategic supply partners, working in tandem with 3M Division stakeholders and 3M Legal.
- Implement and negotiate Agreements to cover complex supply relationships, including SMI (supplier managed inventory), consigned materials, formula-based pricing, etc.
Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Ten (10) years of combined experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Experience in Procurement, especially with Molding suppliers, including contract manufacturers and co-packers.
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Initiative, self-starter with a positive & pro-active approach; Project management experience.
- Experience successfully collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects.
- Skilled in written and oral communications.
- Financial acumen and comfort with conducting business analytics.
Work Location & Travel
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international.

Compensation & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $145,676 - $178,049, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
