Sr Space & Visual Merchandising Analyst
About the Role
The Senior Analyst, Space Planning & Visual Merchandising plays a key role in shaping how BJ's members discover and shop seasonal products throughout the year. Sitting at the intersection of merchandising, planning & allocation, club operations, and analytics, this highly visible position influences the strategy and owns the execution of BJ's shared space, bringing seasonal stories to life across multiple product categories. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine analytical thinking, retail strategy, and visual merchandising to influence the member experience across our chain of 250+ clubs.

Responsibilities
- Merchandising Strategy & Planogram Creation
- Partner with Sr. Manager to drive shared space bidding process and make recommendations on space allocations, category adjacencies, and assortment gaps
- Create and maintain planograms for shared space, ensuring plans support seasonal storytelling
- Partner with Merchants to align planogram layouts with category strategies, including selecting items for displays, determining themes for endcaps, and curating cross-category vignettes
- Drive shared space strategy in new clubs, ensuring seasonally and geographically relevant assortments for members
- Visual Merchandising Execution
- Regularly review and refresh visual merchandising standards for shared space
- Collaborate with Club Operations, Marketing, and field teams to support execution and gather feedback
- Contribute to the development of tools, communication, and training materials to support merchandising compliance
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Coordination
- Coordinate key timelines, deliverables, and communication with stakeholders including Merchandising, Marketing, Planning & Allocation, and Club Operations
- Partner cross-functionally to identify and communicate contingency plans for gaps in the shared space assortment
- Manage key milestones and workflows for initiatives such as seasonal space resets, new club openings, and pilot tests
- Contribute to process improvement and documentation to drive clarity, consistency, and accountability with stakeholders
- Data, Reporting, & Competitive Insights
- Conduct ongoing competitive and market trend analysis to identify emerging merchandising opportunities, category innovations, and assortment gaps
- Partner with Analytics to support development of automated reporting detailing shared space performance, visual execution, and member experience
- Own seasonal recapping and leverage both qualitative and quantitative data to support go-forward recommendations
- Present findings and recommendations to merchandising leadership to influence future strategies
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, category management, or a related field
- Passion for products, consumer trends, and competitive market insights, with the ability to translate findings into action
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Proven track record of driving initiatives from concept through execution and delivering results
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with planogram or space planning software is a bonus
- Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and thrive in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data and insights to support merchandising decisions

Schedule
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA, and Monday and Friday are remote days.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $68,500.00 - $87,500.00.
