About the role
Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Education business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice, working closely with Education Technology companies. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront, AWS Bedrock, AWS Sagemaker, AWS EKS) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.
Responsibilities
- Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific projects
- Defining and designing architectures, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
- Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
- Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the EdTech markets for cloud computing working with a world class sales and business development team
- Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
- Helping our customers to design and create cloud computing architectures
- Being a Strategic Advisor
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
Skills
- Technical presentation experience – White board, small and large group presentations
- Technical – Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing
- Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security
- Ability to travel 30%
Pay
- USA, CA, San Francisco: $176,600.00 - $239,000.00 USD annually
- USA, CA, Santa Monica: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
