Sr. Solutions Architect, SMB Solutions Architect
About the role
Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate customer adoption of the AWS cloud. As part of the AWS SMB group, you will work directly with Small and Medium Business customers, helping them gain a competitive edge using AWS. You will influence customers' architectural choices across broad use cases, including security, compute, storage, networking, serverless, analytics, and AI/ML. This role involves providing technical design guidance, thought leadership, and capturing and sharing best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Solutions Architecture team to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS platform.
- Scope each customer engagement with clear, well-defined objectives and success criteria.
- Own each engagement to ensure timely and successful delivery of value.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the solution architect community.
- Understand AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.
- Use internal Amazon systems such as salesforce.com.
- Provide exceptional technical design guidance and thought leadership across a variety of use cases.
A day in the life
A typical day as an AWS Solutions Architect blends strategic customer engagements with technical deep-dives. You might start with a workshop helping a customer architect their generative AI solution, followed by collaborating with account teams on migration projects. After lunch, you could lead a technical discovery session exploring analytics solutions, review architectural designs, and provide best practice guidance. The day may end with contributing to internal knowledge-sharing or preparing for customer presentations.

Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
- Experience working with end user or developer communities.
Pay
The base salary range for this position varies by location:
- San Francisco, CA: $176,600 - $239,000 USD annually
- Santa Monica, CA: $153,600 - $207,800 USD annually
- Seattle, WA: $153,600 - $207,800 USD annually
