About the role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
  • Define implementation architectures, providing inputs to RFI and RFP responses
  • Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
  • Locate on-site with the customer and provide thoughtful technical design with sensitivity to Defense market needs for cloud computing
  • Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
  • Collaborate with and learn from some of the brightest technical minds in the industry across enterprise architecture

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • Associate's degree or above, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), Cloud+, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • Passion for creating, building, educating, training, and designing cloud computing architectures, especially for Defense Department customers
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Executive Speaking and Presentation Skills: Whiteboard, small and large group presentations
    • Technical: Web applications services development/deployment, DevOps/DevSecOps, cloud computing, data and database architectures and analytics, or networking
    • Operational: Web site/services operations, management, and security
    • Economic and Business: RFP/Acquisition support; technical architecture; understanding market trends; cost-benefit analysis
    • Advisory/Consulting: Experience with Defense Department customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $138,200 - $187,000 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
