Solutions Architect - AWS WWPS DOD - Air Force, WWPS SOLUTIONS ARCHITECTS
About the role
Join our team as a Solutions Architect and help accelerate our growing U.S. War Department business within the World Wide Public Sector practice. In this role, you will shape and deliver strategies to promote broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.
You will own the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects, define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, and serve as a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services. You will also capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community while collaborating with some of the brightest technical minds in enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical engagements and ensure the success of specific implementation projects for U.S. War Department customers.
- Define and deliver implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
- Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad knowledge of how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services in the Defense markets.
- Provide thoughtful technical design and sensitivity to customer needs in cloud computing.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
- Collaborate with and educate technical teams across enterprise architecture.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
- 4+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- Bachelor’s degree, or one of the following certifications: CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), Cloud+, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
- Executive speaking and presentation skills, including whiteboard and group presentations.
- Technical experience in development/deployment, cloud computing, containerization, networking, generative AI, etc.
- Operational experience in web site/services operations, management, and security.
- Economic and business experience, including RFP/acquisition support, technical architecture, market trends, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Advisory or consulting experience with War Department customers.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is:
- USA, FL, Tampa: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Herndon: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
