About the role

The Senior Software Integration Engineer will support our Secure Integrated Solutions (SIS) team in deploying and configuring security solutions that facilitate protection of the nation's critical infrastructure. The individual will have a strong background in software engineering and systems integration, with a proven track record of successfully integrating complex systems across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

This role requires a strategic thinker who drives integration initiatives, leads cross-functional coordination, and takes end-to-end ownership of technical outcomes on assigned projects. The Senior Software Integration Engineer will execute assigned tasks throughout the entire project lifecycle, collaborate with Project Engineering Leads and team members, and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving ability to drive progress without requiring detailed direction.

  • Project Leadership & Process Ownership: Execute assigned tasks, collaborate with team members, and take ownership of assigned process areas.
  • Requirements & Design: Review and contribute to project Design Change Forms and Change Requests, identify impacts of software design changes, and own Advanced Information Management configuration planning.
  • Implementation: Implement software changes, own software solution deployment and configuration, and execute system configuration activities.
  • Testing & Verification: Support functional testing, integration testing, and other testing activities, and perform release build generation and installation activities.
  • Configuration Management & Technical Review Board: Prepare Change Requests, participate in Technical Review Board meetings, and contribute to the technical evaluation and disposition of proposed changes.
  • Customer & Team Collaboration: Establish effective working relationships with project team members, cross-functional departments, and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Engineering mindset with the ability to combine adherence to established procedures with root cause analysis and sound engineering judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in systems integration, including all phases of the software/system development life cycle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft O365 applications, network architecture, and relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in application design, implementation, and installation of real-time computer-based process control systems.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ or C#, Visual Studio, Crystal Reports, and version control tools such as Git.
  • Microsoft Active Directory experience.
  • Installation and configuration of networking devices and video surveillance systems.
  • Software development life cycle experience, including Waterfall, Incremental, and Agile methodologies.
  • Software configuration management tools and practices.
