About the role
The OEM SSD team in Hardware Engineering Services owns the full lifecycle of SSDs across EC2 platforms, from qualification through firmware updates to end-of-life. We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to build the software services that make this lifecycle faster, more automated, and more reliable.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a multi-year automation roadmap aimed at replacing manual workflows with scalable, reliable services.
- Build SSD qualification and fleet management solutions that improve drive health and reliability across EC2, EBS, and S3 platforms, partnering with software and hardware teams.
- Own end-to-end service development: requirements, design docs, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational runbooks.
- Use agentic AI-powered coding and design tools daily to accelerate prototyping, testing, and code delivery.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Strong understanding or motivation to learn drive (SSD and/or HDD) technologies

Pay
Base salary range for this position is $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually.
