Sr. Software Dev Engineer, AWS EKS

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the growing Amazon Elastic Container Services for Kubernetes (EKS) team. EKS is a managed Kubernetes service that simplifies Kubernetes management for customers, allowing them to focus on their applications.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging technical problems related to EKS Compute and Infrastructure, including EKS Auto, EKS Hybrid Nodes, Managed Node Groups, EKS Fargate, and open-source Karpenter.
• Work on greenfield projects to enhance how customers run compute workloads on EKS clusters.
• Collaborate with peers who bring remarkable technical expertise to tackle AI/ML workload challenges.
• Build high-impact solutions that are deployed globally to our large customer base.
• Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring system fault tolerance and resolving issues efficiently.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
