Software Dev Engineer 2, AWS EKS
Amazon Web Services is looking for Software Development Engineers to join the growing Amazon Elastic Container Services for Kubernetes (EKS) team. Amazon EKS is a managed Kubernetes service that simplifies using Kubernetes without requiring expertise in provisioning and operating Kubernetes. EKS handles administrative tasks like setup, operation, scaling, and updates, allowing customers to focus on their applications.

About the team
This is a unique opportunity within AWS to work on Karpenter, an open-source node autoscaler for Kubernetes. The team actively participates in Kubernetes working groups, collaborates across companies, attends and presents at KubeCon, and works closely with EKS customers to solve real-world scaling challenges.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $143,700 - $194,400 USD annually. The total compensation package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
