Sr. SLED Account Executive

About the role
Our team is looking for an achievement-driven Account Executive with a strong commitment to exceptional customer service and relationship building to contribute to UDT’s growth. This role’s primary focus is to build a customer portfolio, mainly targeting recurring revenue business. A successful Account Executive will understand customer challenges and map solutions to our portfolio of offers. The ability to acquire new customers and maintain and grow existing accounts are foundational success factors for this position. This role requires a strong sales background in Education and State and Local Government (SLED) and is based in Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales quota in assigned territory to ensure revenue and gross margin growth year over year.
- Generate new leads and identify business opportunities for technology products, services, and solutions through prospecting activities such as cold calling, introductory emails, and other sales initiatives.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of UDT’s solution offerings.
- Establish, maintain, and cultivate client partnerships to identify needs and maximize new business opportunities while proposing innovative ways to “Accomplish More.”
- Manage the full sales cycle, including short-term, mid-term, and long-term opportunities within your account portfolio.
- Negotiate with peers, partners, and customers using a win/win philosophy.
- Collaborate with sales support personnel to attain competitive pricing and finalize deals.
- Initiate collaboration with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) for client meetings and partner with technical resources to provide the best solution for the client.
- Serve as a liaison with vendor manufacturer sales representatives and maintain credible business relationships with each.
- Promote the sale of vendor/manufacturer products and UDT’s offers.
- Integrate innovative sales strategies into proposals and customer presentations.
- Deliver winning presentations to customers and prospects at all levels within an organization, addressing product uses, benefits, competitive advantages, and facilitating technical resources.
- Report sales activity in the company’s CRM software, including pipeline results or statuses.
- Accurately forecast revenue 30/60/90 days out.
- Handle escalations and participate directly in complex sales situations to negotiate and/or resolve issues, ensuring client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of technology sales experience, including Partner Sales in Education and State and Local Government (SLED).
- Preference for IT services sales experience, including Managed Services, Hosted Voice, Telecom, Professional Services, and/or Security and Infrastructure solutions.
- Experience selling into Healthcare, Financial Services, and/or Hospitality verticals is preferred.
- Middle Tennessee or East Tennessee market experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to develop and execute a territory sales plan and understand the competitive landscape to create win-based proposals and pricing.
- Strong knowledge of solution selling and creating value for business clients.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
- Self-motivated, ethical, and driven with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Technically savvy with a moderate understanding of I.T. hardware, software, and solutions.
- Ability to develop reports, recommendations, proposals, presentations, and other documents.
- Excellent presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.

- Ability to work independently and as a team to solve problems.

- Must be able to travel as needed.
