Regular, full-time position. English fluency required. 1st shift (United States of America).

About the role

The Senior ServiceNow Integration & Platform Security Engineer designs, builds, deploys, and maintains API integration standards, authentication services, and platform security controls that enable secure connectivity across the ServiceNow ecosystem. This senior technical contributor engineers reusable integration patterns, OAuth authentication frameworks, API lifecycle management capabilities, and platform security guardrails supporting applications, automations, AI agents, and external systems.

The role partners closely with product owners, architects, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams, application teams, and platform operations to deliver secure, resilient, scalable, and compliant ServiceNow integration capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, support, and continuously improve ServiceNow API integration standards, authentication services, and platform security controls.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain reusable integration patterns across REST APIs, SOAP services, IntegrationHub, Scripted REST APIs, and MID Server capabilities.
  • Develop and operationalize OAuth authentication frameworks, token management patterns, certificate-based authentication, and secure connectivity standards.
  • Build and maintain API lifecycle management capabilities including design standards, versioning, documentation, monitoring, deprecation, and retirement practices.
  • Define and enforce integration and security standards to ensure consistent adoption across the ServiceNow platform.
  • Support OAuth modernization efforts by migrating legacy authentication patterns toward modern, secure, supportable authentication models.
  • Engineer platform security guardrails including ACLs, scoped application security, API access controls, credential handling standards, and integration control patterns.
  • Develop reusable services that enable applications, automations, AI agents, orchestration platforms, and external enterprise systems to securely consume ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, observability, performance telemetry, alerting, and operational controls for integrations, APIs, and authentication services.
  • Respond to integration and platform security alerts, incidents, and service degradation events; triage issues, document root cause, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform approved platform changes, configuration updates, integration deployments, and operational maintenance activities in alignment with change, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, architecture, infrastructure, product, application, and operations partners to implement secure and scalable technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation standards, reference patterns, support runbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards, reusable patterns, and secure platform best practices.
  • Implement software architecture and engineering approaches for complex initiatives, contributing to technical plans and operational targets.
  • Adopt and refine advanced software engineering standards, practices, and governance mechanisms, influencing quality, reliability, and delivery across teams.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, product partners, and architecture teammates to shape technology approaches and propose solution patterns.
  • Lead end-to-end technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions, producing patterns for others to follow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, designing innovative architectures and performance improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to engineers, delegating and reviewing work to raise the technical bar.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and techniques, building prototypes and solution concepts for new features or capabilities.
  • Contribute to long-term technical goals and plans through well-reasoned recommendations and design proposals.
  • Lead large or complex initiatives, coordinating technical work across teams to ensure cohesive, high-quality outcomes.
