What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary liaison and AVL representative, building strong customer relationships through exceptional technical support and service.
- Install, commission, configure, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AVL products, systems, and software in accordance with AVL standards and processes.
- Support and supervise the installation and startup of advanced testing equipment and measurement systems within customer facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, instrumentation, and system performance issues.
- Generate and maintain calibration certificates, service reports, commissioning documentation, and other required records.
- Analyze results and provide technical evaluations, recommendations, and interpretations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing troubleshooting guides and identifying opportunities to improve equipment effectiveness and reliability.
- Independently assess, categorize, and resolve customer service requests while ensuring a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
- Proactively manage open issues and drive them to successful resolution through effective communication and follow-up.
- Deliver formal customer training and informal operator instruction on AVL products, systems, and test equipment.
- Mentor and support Junior Service Engineers by sharing technical expertise and best practices related to test cell equipment and systems.
- Take ownership of professional development by actively participating in technical training and certification programs.
- Comply with all customer and AVL safety policies and complete required safety training.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as business needs require.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–10 years of experience in a service engineering, field service, testing, or related technical role.
- 7+ years of experience with test automation equipment, test bed operations, and associated hardware and software is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Working knowledge of complete test cell operations, instrumentation, and measurement systems.
- Proven ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems in a customer-facing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, operators, engineers, and management.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to remain professional under pressure, handle challenging customer situations, and maintain a positive customer experience.
- Excellent listening skills, patience, and a customer-first mindset.
- Reliable personal transportation for local and regional travel requirements.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed for customer support, training, or business activities.
