Sr. Service Engineer
Serve as a senior technical contributor and subject-matter expert
Serve as a senior technical contributor and subject-matter expert for complex migrations of FactoryLink (FLink) applications to Siemens WinCC within a structured, team-based project environment
Perform in-depth analysis of legacy FLink architectures and design robust WinCC solutions that preserve functionality while improving performance, maintainability, and standardization
Architect, develop, and validate advanced WinCC screens, scripts, system configurations, and alarm/event handling
Design, review, and optimize VBScript (VBS) and C-based logic to support migration strategy, customization, diagnostics, and long-term system stability
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less-experienced engineers, including guidance on best practices, coding standards, and troubleshooting approaches
Assume technical ownership for assigned migration scopes, including issue triage, root-cause analysis, risk assessment, and resolution of complex or ambiguous engineering challenges
Actively contribute to and, as appropriate, lead technical design reviews, system testing, and customer acceptance activities
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to continuous improvement by creating and maintaining engineering standards, technical documentation, and reusable migration assets, and by sharing lessons learned across projects
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: 8+ years extensive hands-on experience with Siemens WinCC, including system architecture and advanced configuration
Strong proficiency in VBScript (VBS) and C, with demonstrated experience supporting complex automation systems
Proven experience leading or technically owning work within a team-based engineering or migration environment
Deep understanding of legacy automation platforms and the ability to translate obsolete designs into modern, supportable solutions
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with ambiguous, incomplete, or undocumented legacy requirements
Strong communication skills, capable of interfacing with project teams, management, and customers on technical matters
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship - Preferred Qualifications: Advanced, hands-on experience with FactoryLink (FLink) systems, including detailed analysis of legacy architectures and behaviors to support complex migration efforts
Demonstrated experience serving in a senior technical role on automation system migration, modernization, or lifecycle management projects, with accountability for technical outcomes
Proven capability in customer-facing project environments, including participation in technical alignment discussions, issue resolution, and support of customer acceptance activities
Experience working on medium to high complexity projects with limited oversight, applying Siemens engineering standards and best practices
