Sr Scheduler

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, update, and maintenance of Metra's Capital Delivery Master Program Schedule ensuring project data is entered and updated correctly and timely;
• Templates are used properly;
• Questions are answered.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of project schedule templates including all phases of project scope development.
• Identify and prioritize training needs, develop training materials, and deliver schedule management training to staff.
• Develop and update schedule management processes and procedures ensuring consistency of operations.
• Manage all aspects of the Schedule Management System within the Project Management Information System (PMIS) ensuring system structure is compatible and integrates with other Project Controls functions and systems.
• Responsible for verifying compliance with the established work breakdown structure of project tasks.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain and foster a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of seven years of schedule creation and management experience, preferably in an infrastructure related field.
• Considerable knowledge of schedule management software to include Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Considerable knowledge of Critical Path Methodology scheduling.
• Knowledge of schedule cost-loading and Earned Value Management.
• Good organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in integrating schedule and cost data.
• Proficient in Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft 365.
• Able to create a program-level project schedule by working with project managers, discipline subject matter experts, and contractor schedules.
• Able to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Able to work well with others and conduct training consisting of multi-disciplinary members.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to operate a vehicle.
• Must be willing to travel within and outside of Metra's 6-county region.
• Must be available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.
