Sr. Salesforce Solution Engineer

About the role

Join the Salesforce Solution team of Cat Digital, the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc. You will design, build, and deliver high-quality, scalable Salesforce solutions across multi-cloud implementations. This role involves owning complex workstreams while collaborating closely with Solution Architects and Lead Engineers, spanning solution design, development, testing, and deployment with an emphasis on quality, scalability, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications for target systems using agile methods.
• Acquire client requirements; prepare solution designs, integration strategies, and data models.
• Resolve workflow problems through automation optimization.
• Develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) for new applications and enhance solutions for existing applications.
• Design and develop integration solutions with other systems using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools.

Requirements

• Extensive Salesforce development experience (typically 8+ years with a Bachelor’s or 5+ years with a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field).
• Experience in designing and implementing Salesforce solutions using Salesforce Sales, Service, and Experience Cloud.
• Proven experience in some of the following:
  • Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.
  • Developing applications using Salesforce OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures).
  • Developing using Salesforce declarative capabilities like Flows and determining the right balance between declarative and programmatic solutions.
  • Developing using Apex, LWC, Batch Apex, and APIs.
  • Deploying using CI/CD tools such as Copado, Azure DevOps, or other Salesforce DevOps tools.
  • Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum).
• Strong understanding and/or experience in:
  • Data modeling and security architecture.
  • Application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.
  • Utilizing Salesforce Data Cloud for unified customer data and real-time insights.
  • Developing and integrating AI-driven workflows and automation using Agentforce capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Software Development: Extensive experience with Salesforce development tools and activities; ability to produce software products in line with product requirements.

Location

This position will be based out of either our Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, or Irving, TX offices.

Pay

Pay Range: $112,710.00 - $183,140.00. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
