About the role
The Senior Sales Analyst supports decision intelligence and enablement by transforming data into actionable insights, decision-ready recommendations, and tools that help internal teams and customers make faster, smarter, and more consistent business decisions. This role combines analytics, business storytelling, forecasting, and cross-functional partnership to improve performance, strengthen planning, and enable execution.
Responsibilities
- Collect, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities that inform business decisions.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and decision-support tools for internal and external teams.
- Assist in short-term sales forecasting and scenario analysis using historical data and business drivers.
- Report on Point of Sale (POS), promotions, assortment, pricing, and category performance to support planning and execution.
- Use visualizations and business storytelling to translate data into clear insights, recommended actions, and measurable outcomes.
- Enable sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams to make faster, more informed, and more consistent decisions through analytics and insights.
- Provide analytical support for internal and external customer meetings, including preparation of insights, recommendations, and follow-up actions.
- Act as a liaison between the business unit and retailer(s), translating business questions into analytical solutions and decision-ready outputs.
- Lead deep-dive analyses to uncover growth opportunities, root causes, and market trends, and recommend actions to improve performance.
- Build predictive models, scenario plans, and decision frameworks for short- and long-term sales planning.
- Present findings, trade-offs, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and business partners.
- Work closely with marketing, finance, operations, and customer teams to align analytics with business priorities and enable execution.
- Identify process inefficiencies, gaps in data availability, and decision bottlenecks, and recommend improvements that strengthen decision intelligence and business enablement.
- Guide peer analysts, promote analytical best practices, and lead complex projects that improve insight generation and decision effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business, analytics, economics, statistics, or a related field required; master’s degree a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a data, analytics, business intelligence, or decision support role required.
- Experience in merchandising, category management, supply chain, or forecasting a plus.
- Exposure to inventory, pricing, sales performance, and retail decision processes.
- Retailer/supplier experience required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and analytics tools, including Power BI, Advanced Excel, Tableau, and other reporting or business intelligence platforms.
- Ability to pull, blend, transform, and validate data from multiple sources to create trusted, decision-ready information.
- Experience creating visuals and analytical narratives that explain what the data is saying, highlight actionable insights, and support decisions across multiple levels of the organization.
- Advanced skills in retail metrics and business math required.
- Experience with predictive modeling, scenario analysis, and prescriptive analytics preferred.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance analysis, streamline reporting, and improve decision support preferred.
- Ability to frame business questions, evaluate trade-offs, and translate analysis into practical recommendations that enable action.
- Ability to build and foster strong customer and cross-functional partner relationships.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work from a DFC location (if within 55 miles from home) Tuesday through Thursday.
- Willingness to travel for in-person meetings and events as needed.
Pay
Hiring range: $68,373.54 – $104,459.44 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
