About the role
This role is critical to the strategic decision-making and risk management of the company's global insurance program. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of robust risk management frameworks and protocols, manage the procurement and renewal of insurance policies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify and assess risks, develop and implement risk management frameworks, and manage claims.
- Policies & Administration: Manage procurement and renewal of insurance policies, maintain records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Claims Management & Resolution: Lead the claims management process, collaborate with stakeholders, and advocate for organizational interests.
- Financial Management & Reporting: Analyze insurance costs, prepare reports, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with brokers, carriers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders, and stay informed of market trends and regulatory changes.
- Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs, and provide guidance on insurance-related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in risk management and insurance.
- Deep understanding of insurance principles, coverage types, and claims processes, including international insurance markets.
- Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive global insurance programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a fluid environment.
- Proven track record as a doer and ability to connect the dots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as ARM, CPCU, or CRM.
- Experience in a complex, multinational organization.
- Experience with insurance programs for technology companies, including product liability, errors & omissions, and cyber insurance.
- Fluency in one or more languages.
