Responsibilities
- Develop BAW and SAW filtering components for state-of-the-art wireless RF applications.
- Assist technical marketing and project leads in defining new products through feasibility studies and technical competitive analyses.
- Design microwave acoustic devices using various design techniques such as bandpass filters, ladder filters, notch filters, CRF filters, acoustic-assisted filters, etc.
- Perform acoustic and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using commercially available tools and Qorvo’s state-of-the-art internally developed tools.
- Provide final device layout to support photomask set creation.
- Interact with BAW and SAW process engineers and R&D team to utilize knowledge of fabrication process variations and capabilities.
- Work with characterization team and test engineers to fully evaluate and diagnose devices using the latest RF/Microwave test equipment.
- Support documentation of product and design information to educate others on novel design techniques or provide guidance on product usage.
- Collaborate with test, application, and product engineering teams to transfer new products to production.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design flow, methods, and cycle time.
Qualifications
- BSEE with 5 years of experience; MSEE with 2-3 years of experience or PhD.
- Industry or academic experience to include RF circuit design (including microwave resonator, filter, coupler, antenna, amplifier); EM simulation (HFSS or equivalent); layout design and troubleshooting; impedance matching and tuning; filter component evaluation and integration; RF device characterization and system level measurements.
- Direct experience of BAW or SAW design preferred but not necessary.
- Knowledge of microelectronic fabrication and high-volume manufacturing, statistical analysis, and six-sigma method for process improvement.
- Knowledge of circuit simulation, front end radio architecture, communication systems, RF characterization, micro-electronics technology, and fabrication processes.
- Programming skills in script language and/or Matlab desired.
- General knowledge of wireless protocols and communication standards desired.
Pay
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $115,600 - $150,500, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location).
