Responsibilities
- Develop BAW and SAW filtering components for state-of-the-art wireless RF applications.
- Assist technical marketing and project leads in defining new products through feasibility studies and technical competitive analyses.
- Design microwave acoustic devices using various design techniques such as bandpass filters, ladder filters, notch filters, CRF filters, acoustic-assisted filters, etc.
- Perform acoustic and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using commercially available tools and Qorvo’s internal tools, providing final device layout for photomask set creation.
- Interact with BAW and SAW process engineers and R&D team to utilize knowledge of fabrication process variations and capabilities.
- Collaborate with characterization team and test engineers to evaluate and diagnose devices using advanced RF/Microwave test equipment.
- Support documentation of product and design information, and work with test, application, and product engineering teams to transfer new products to production.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design flow, methods, and cycle time.
Qualifications
- BSEE with 5 years of experience; MSEE with 2-3 years of experience or PhD.
- Industry or academic experience in RF circuit design (including microwave resonators, filters, couplers, antennas, amplifiers); EM simulation (HFSS or equivalent); layout design and troubleshooting; impedance matching and tuning; filter component evaluation and integration; RF device characterization and system level measurements.
- Direct experience of BAW or SAW design preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of microelectronic fabrication, high-volume manufacturing, statistical analysis, and Six Sigma for process improvement.
- Programming skills in script languages and/or Matlab desired.
- General knowledge of wireless protocols and communication standards desired.
