About the role
The Senior Relationship Manager will join the Transformative Healthcare Group, a specialized team within the Global Commercial Bank. This group focuses on the middle-market healthcare industry, providing traditional banking, capital raising, and advisory services to public and private healthcare companies with annual revenues generally ranging from $50 million to $2 billion. The team maintains a leadership position within the industry, manages numerous syndicated and capital markets-agented transactions, and collaborates closely with Global Investment Banking to deliver deep industry expertise and a comprehensive suite of solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of for-profit healthcare clients and prospects with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion, helping companies operate, borrow, and invest for their current and future needs.
- Acquire, deepen, and maintain profitable client relationships through sales, prospecting, and enhancing existing relationships.
- Understand and interpret financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends.
- Collaborate with domestic and international teammates across the bank, including Investment Banking, Foreign Exchange, and Wealth Management, and facilitate client relationships with Product Specialists in Credit, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services to design and deliver financial solutions.
- Lead and facilitate dialogue with complex healthcare clients and prospects on topics such as the healthcare industry, alternative capital structures, and general business issues.
- Coach and mentor peers while utilizing team leadership skills.
- Adapt to changes in sales practices and broader market and industry conditions as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in Commercial Banking or Investment Banking.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage an extensive portfolio of clients with revenues greater than $50 million.
- Proven track record of prospecting new business, enhancing existing relationships, and closing profitable transactions.
- Professional sales skills and experience, including planning, execution, and follow-up from client meetings.
- Strong corporate finance, capital markets, and accounting acumen.
- Financial modeling experience and completion of a credit training program.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading, and negotiating with a team of bank associates to solve client problems.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & 63 licenses (must obtain within 180 days of start date).
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; MBA desirable.
- Existing knowledge of the market preferred.
- Active membership/participation in local community organizations.
- Highly desirable to have active networking contacts and Centers of Influence established in the market.
- Desire to work in Specialized Industries with an interest in Healthcare.
