Sr. Reinsurance Account

What You'll Do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including preparation and review of complex journal entries
• Account for ceded and assumed reinsurance transactions, including premiums, losses, commissions and recoverables
• Perform and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances
• Prepare quarterly reporting to reinsurers
• Reconcile reinsurance balances with brokers, reinsurers, and internal systems
• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly variance reporting to support leadership and FP&A
• Prepare and review GAAP and statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and footnote disclosures
• Prepare schedule F and assist with other regulatory filings
• Maintain, document, and enhance internal accounting processes and controls
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen financial reporting integrity
• Partner with cross-functional teams and serve as a trusted accounting resource

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; Master's degree preferred
• Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; insurance industry experience required
• Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting, and Yellow Book reporting; advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, nested formulas); attention to detail with proven analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities; ability to clearly communicate accounting concepts to leadership and business partners; excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
