About the role

As a Sr. Regional Environmental Engineer, you will lead the environmental regulatory compliance function of your assigned area. You will be responsible for advancing environmental performance culture and improving the regulatory adherence of our data centers by protecting the environment through environmental incident prevention, investigation, and mitigation.

Each day you will work with our data center community, collaborating with sources of air emissions (such as emergency backup generators), large-scale water and wastewater systems, and waste handling from critical IT equipment. You will partner with experts in security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to further the global environmental compliance program. Using data, you will evaluate trends related to leading and lagging indicators to help focus on environmental regulatory compliance, our organization's number one tenet.

As AWS increases data capacity, you will work with construction managers to identify and mitigate environmental risks before live operations. You will operate in a fast-paced environment where our operations are rapidly evolving, advocating for compliant changes amid new infrastructure, tools, and processes.
