Join a diverse, dynamic, and enthusiastic team of environmental professionals who play a leading role in environmental permitting and compliance at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Responsibilities

  • Assess environmental risks and requirements and develop mitigations and strategies to support data center siting and development strategies and site-specific project delivery.
  • Lead technical aspects of environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, regulatory and permitting evaluations, natural, biological and cultural resource evaluations, and noise assessments.
  • Deliver environmental permits, approvals, and plans to enable on-time and compliant construction and operations for new data center locations and expansion of existing sites.
  • Communicate environmental requirements, risks, and activities to internal and external project partners.
  • Cook up site development and permitting strategies that are environmentally responsible and sustainable while meeting project timelines.
  • Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations in support of environmental permit acquisition and regional development strategies.
  • Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance projects with specific expertise in CWA 404 and NPDES permitting, groundwater protection, wastewater discharge, and natural and cultural resource evaluations.
  • 7+ years experience conducting environmental due diligence for greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • At least 3 years of project or task management experience for environmental permitting and/or due diligence projects.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working in data centers or critical infrastructure experience.
  • Experience managing large projects and multifunctional teams.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Experience in multiple states within the US (preferably in NC, GA, LA, MS, TX, TN, OK, FL).
  • Experience managing and/or supporting community/public interactions.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or other project management software.
