About the role

The Sr. Regional Auction Sales Manager is responsible for executing the asset disposal process for matured off-lease and repossessed vehicles. This role supports Eastern and Western Regional Auction Managers by verifying units are sale-ready, assigning vehicles to the appropriate sales channel, and providing on-site and remote support for auction events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily physical auction vehicle preparation, vehicle condition and approve cost-effective repairs delivering an increase in resale value consistent with company reconditioning return on investment objectives and administrative activities consistent with company objectives and policies.
  • Execute Sale-day Strategy
    • Manage auction sale day activities to deliver pricing and conversion targets (sell-through %, average sales prices, net proceeds, days-to-sell), adjusting tactics in real time based on lane performance and bidder activity.
  • Provide on-site and remote support during auction events, including managing logistics, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Cook up coordination with auction operations and auctioneers to facilitate the day-of-sale process at physical auction location ensuring smooth lane flow, proper run order, accurate announcements, and issue resolution that could impact sale outcomes.
  • Ensure vehicles are sale-ready for maximum value by confirming recon status, vehicle presentation/lot readiness, disclosures, CR/status accuracy, and that any holds are cleared prior to selling.
  • Set and manage pricing controls (floor/reserve guidance, “if” bids, approvals/escalations), ensuring decisions align to company pricing discipline and performance goals.
  • Monitor bidding and buyer behavior live; diagnose low engagement (condition, price, run timing, announcements) and deploy corrective actions (re-run, reposition, convert to different channel, adjust pricing guidance).
  • Drive buyer participation and conversion by working with auction sales staff to promote inventory to targeted dealer segments and ensuring key buyers are aware of high-priority units.
  • Handle sale-day exception management (title/announcement disputes, arbitration risk, condition issues, buyer complaints), partnering with auction and internal teams to protect proceeds and customer experience.
  • Validate post-sale results and integrity of sale data (sold/unsold status, price entries, fees, buyer info), ensuring accurate reporting and timely downstream processing.
  • Communicate sale-day performance to internal stakeholders (regional auction managers, remarketing leadership) with highlights, misses vs. targets, root causes, and immediate next steps.
  • Engage and guide auction leadership developing a consistent dealer buyer base, install and evolve auction processes supporting company sales and vehicle readiness standards, deliver weekly auction performance targets and follow up meetings supporting ongoing improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement on conversion and pricing outcomes by reviewing weekly performance trends by auction/lane/segment and implementing corrective action plans with auction leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in vehicle remarketing, auction operations, or asset management, with a demonstrated track record of successful auction sales management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field.
  • High level of understanding of the automobile industry including the relationships of the automobile dealer, the auto auction and the relationship of the wholesale vehicle process as it applies to asset disposal.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Strong orientation toward results coupled with reputation for integrity, creativity and good judgment.
  • Must have the ability to challenge, when appropriate, existing practices.

  • Driving Requirements: Employee must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Job requires daily driving and the capacity to travel long distances including across assigned regions, meetings, and events. Some overnight travel will be required to other auction locations.

The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
