About the role

The Senior Project Manager oversees cost estimates and operational aspects of electrical construction transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will be located in Texas or Georgia and must be flexible to travel regularly to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project construction schedules and submit “Requests for Information” to clients.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects and act as the main point-of-contact for project personnel.
  • Coordinate meetings, schedule updates, deliverables, and address outstanding open items as requested by clients.
  • Prepare look-ahead documents, weekly and monthly progress reports, and billing information.
  • Review and monitor job costs versus budgets and report regularly to the management team.
  • Prepare complete cost estimates (labor and material) for projects within set deadlines.
  • Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation and participate in the estimate review process with stakeholders.
  • Prepare bills of material and other information for purchasing.
  • Schedule and attend field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements.
  • Compare project documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders and coordinate closely with project management.
  • Assist construction personnel in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance at a Company-designated office or field location.
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of project management experience in the transmission and distribution industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Primary transmission line discipline experience.
  • Knowledge of specifications, proposals, and documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Familiarity with the N.E.C. and all relevant local codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, mechanical plans, blueprints, and proposals.

Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and estimating software such as Accubid or equivalent.
  • Ability to prepare construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Team player capable of working with diverse internal and external partners.
  • Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods.
