Hiring traveling Senior Project Managers for projects in Georgia. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

About the role

The Senior Project Manager leads and oversees all phases of large, complex, multi-million-dollar construction projects from preconstruction and preplanning through construction and closeout. This role assumes full ownership of project schedule, budget, and overall performance while ensuring work is completed safely, profitably, and to the highest quality standards. The Senior Project Manager collaborates closely with field project managers, general contractors, owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams, maintaining strong relationships that support repeat business and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of complex, multi-million-dollar construction projects from preconstruction and planning through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Take full ownership of project schedule, budget, and overall performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers, ensuring clear roles, accountability, and high performance.
  • Oversee construction management activities, including scheduling, estimating, RFIs, submittals, and change order management across all project phases.
  • Manage project budgets, profitability, and cash flow, including monthly cost reporting and accurate cost projections.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to meet schedule, budget, and quality goals, resolving issues proactively as they arise.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and execution of construction documents, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and work orders.
  • Participate in design coordination, conflict resolution, and constructability reviews across multiple trades, with a strong focus on mechanical systems where applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with general contractors, owners, engineers, architects, and internal stakeholders to align expectations and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Oversee and support the use of project management tools and software, including Bluebeam and Procore, to track progress, documentation, and communication.
  • Curate, organize, and maintain comprehensive project documentation related to work orders, personnel, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction records.
  • Support and mentor estimating staff and junior project team members on technical aspects of project management and construction processes.
  • Participate in the negotiation, drafting, and execution of subcontractor agreements and manage ongoing contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex project challenges related to scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and construction teams to ensure proper coordination of piping, mechanical systems, and other critical building systems.
  • Ensure consistent communication with project stakeholders through clear verbal, written, and interpersonal interactions.
  • Adapt to evolving systems, tools, and processes, and support continuous improvement in project delivery methods.
  • Maintain a strong presence and availability to support project needs, respond to issues, and assist field and office teams in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Extensive project management experience in construction with demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-million-dollar, complex construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or 10+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in construction management, including scheduling, estimation, RFIs, submittals, and change order management.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge with a strong understanding of construction operations, methods, and material procurement.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, profitability, cash flow, and monthly cost reporting with accurate cost projections.
  • Experience coordinating and managing subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to meet schedule, budget, and quality goals.
  • Proficiency with project management tools; experience with Bluebeam and Procore is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to curate and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction office environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Reliable and dependable work habits with consistent availability to support project needs.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes as projects and organizational needs evolve.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline is highly preferred.
  • Experience leading large multi-million-dollar complex construction projects across multiple phases of work, including preconstruction through closeout.
  • Background in mechanical construction or projects with significant mechanical systems, such as data centers or healthcare facilities, is beneficial.
  • Experience training and mentoring estimating staff and junior project team members on technical aspects of project management.
  • Proven ability to participate in design coordination, conflict resolution, and constructability reviews across multiple trades.
  • Experience negotiating, drafting, and executing subcontractor agreements and managing contractual obligations.
  • Familiarity with CAD, fabrication processes, and coordination of field labor resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex project challenges related to scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Experience with program management and managing multiple related projects or workstreams is advantageous.
  • Exposure to data center, healthcare, or other technically complex construction environments is a plus.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in a fast-paced construction office environment with regular interaction with active job sites. The Senior Project Manager works closely with field project managers, general contractors, owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams, often coordinating multiple stakeholders and trades simultaneously. The position requires extensive use of project management tools and software, including platforms such as Bluebeam, Procore, and other construction management systems, as well as familiarity with CAD and fabrication-related workflows.

Work hours typically align with standard business hours, with additional time as needed to support critical project milestones, address issues, and meet deadlines. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to project schedules and budgets, with a strong focus on documentation, communication, and collaboration across both office and field settings.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
