Position Summary
Responsible for leading engineering projects that sustain, improve, and expand existing product lines.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- Planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting the engineering tasks and resources of development projects and sustaining engineering activities.
- Engineering design and documentation include detailed and assembly drawings of structural weldments and vacuum, water pressure, and hydraulic systems, and integration with electrical systems.
- Create and maintain bills of materials.
- Participate in the ECO process and perform related changes.
- Collaborate with production team and vendors to produce designs that minimize labor and overall cost.
- Provide technical support for production and service to help troubleshoot problems as needed.
- Participate in process improvement projects to continually improve business practices.
- Engineering analysis includes structural analysis, drive system calculations, product validation testing, and component selection.
- Supporting business activities and providing engineering responses to other departments.
- Develop, execute, and document product hazard reviews.

- Strong knowledge of product design methodologies to develop and detail component and assembly designs for complex systems.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, MSOffice suite, and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Exhibit a high level of customer focus.
- Possess a hands-on, can-do attitude.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related emphasis required.
- Minimum seven (7) years of product design experience in a manufacturing or industrial work environment.
- Previous DFMA and project leadership with specific experience in heavy equipment, and proven track record for executing successful engineering projects.
Working Conditions
- Primary working conditions will be office-based work with frequent daily activities in the manufacturing shop environment.
- Occasional work may also be performed outdoors on equipment in varying and potentially adverse weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, and other industrial conditions may occur.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights over 6 feet.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas.
- Occasionally travel to customer offices, shops, and worksites.
- Travel typically less than 5%.
