Sr. Project Engineer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space. This role will support the execution of utility-scale battery projects from early design through commissioning, with a strong focus on technical coordination and project delivery. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders, external engineering teams, vendors, and procurement contacts to keep engineering requirements aligned across all phases of the project. The position requires someone who can manage schedules, review designs, and help resolve technical gaps while supporting critical infrastructure initiatives. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Oversee execution of utility-scale battery projects from design to commissioning
- Act as the primary contact for technical inquiries and project support
- Manage project scope, engineering schedules, and stakeholder communications
- Create technical specifications and facilitate vendor reviews
- Assist in procurement activities and evaluate technical proposals
- Lead consultations with external engineering teams and coordinate design reviews
- Ensure alignment of multidisciplinary engineering requirements throughout the project
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in project engineering or systems engineering in energy or electrical infrastructure
- Expertise in low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including analysis and coordination
- Proven skills in reviewing engineering designs and resolving technical gaps
- Familiarity with grid interconnection standards relevant to renewable energy and storage
- Experience in procurement and bid evaluations for major electrical equipment
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including multi-day site visits

Pay
Compensation: $125,000 – $160,000 annually
