About the role
The Senior Project Designer is primarily responsible for providing specialized technical support to the Project Manager by preparing customary layouts, detailed drawings, and diagrams through specific software to meet the needs of the project. This role requires extensive experience in specific markets.
Responsibilities
- Leads technical tasks on projects, reviewing, analyzing, and reducing raw data from field operations, and processing and analyzing data.
- Prepares designs, drawings, reports, and calculations for projects within a specific market, along with plan production.
- Mentors and may lead less experienced designers and technicians on technical design tasks.
- Develops solutions to modify specific project tasks to meet the scope of the project and prepares deliverables as directed by the Project Manager.
- Collaborates with project team members, educates technicians in design software specific to the market, and assists other project teams or departments with technical, field, or other duties as needed.
- Provides assistance in any area necessary to get the work completed according to the project schedule and maintains current knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited four-year college or from a vocational-technical college in a related field, plus 16 years of related work experience in the area of work specialization.
- 16 years of specialized CAD experience in market-specific software systems, with greater depth of knowledge and experience with agencies specific to the market.
- Ability to operate other computer software and equipment, and basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment
The associate will perform responsibilities in both a typical office environment and outdoor environment, and may be exposed to weather conditions, noise, dust, smells, and other environmental factors present at a project site. Nights away from home may be required.
Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, requiring 40+ hours per week. Nights and weekend commitments to the organization, its associates, and clients may be necessary.
