We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We have an immediate opening for a Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Electrical Engineer in the IAD region. As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure, or add new services. You will be the 'go-to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use your electrical expertise to own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability
  • Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region
  • Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered
  • Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects
  • Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover
  • Manage design and as built drawings and documents
  • Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
  • Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering or Architectural License
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Pay & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $136,600.00 - $184,800.00 USD annually (USA, VA, Herndon)
